Review of iPod Touch

The iPod is a brand of pocket-sized ultra light hard-drive based audio players. It is designed and marketed by Apple Computers. It is a touch-sensitive media player that has slim design, big storage capacity and much else beside. Ipod Touch is not a cell phone or a smart phone, but it is a small digital device that performs many of the other functions of a smart phone. The iPod Touch is like the iPhone without the phone. The iPod Touch has almost all of the iPhone’s features except for the connection to network. Use it to listen to music, watch movies, play games, check email, or surf the web. Except for making phone calls, it can do just about everything a smart phone can do, but with no monthly charges. It is like having a mini-computer in your pocket.
The iPod Touch has three basic functions: it’s a music and video player, a web browser and emailer, and it can run applications downloaded from Apple’s App Store.
In USA the iPod Touch comes in 3 version: 8GB, 32GB, and 64GB. The new 64GB model is capable of holding a large music collection.. The 64GB provides more than enough space for your music, games and photos, application needs - 64 GB capacity can be used to store 14,000 songs, 90,000 photos, or 80 hours of video For video, the Touch’s screen is impressive. Videos purchased from iTunes look excellent and the on-screen controls worked well. There are many free applications, games, and music products from Apple that you can put on your Ipod. The email tool is simple but worked well enough.

The iPod Touch comes with a small “Start Here” Guide, a dock adapter, the customary headphones and a white USB charging cable.
The iPod Touch has a crisp and clear 3.5" multi-touch display at a resolution of 480x320 pixels. You simply put your finger on the arrow and slide your finger across the gadget to unlock the device. The iPod touch has only a few buttons and ports including. Apple proprietary USB charging port and a standard 3.5 mm stereo earphone jack.
The iPod Touch comes with OS 3.1 preinstalled, but it can very easily be upgraded to iOS 4. Just attach your iPod to the computer, start iTunes, and perform the update. All of the iPod touch 3rd generation models get the ability to create folders to store your apps. This is a very welcome organizational tool when you downloading apps from the iTunes store which offering over 100,000 apps. You can download additional apps directly from the iTunes store or you can download them to iTunes on your PC or Mac and then sync the touch with the computer. The iPod Touch comes with built-in apps that include a calendar, contacts, notes, stocks, weather, and a calculator.

The Apple iPod Touch provides great entertainment for all ages. All of the models in the iPod family are designed to be user friendly, and can easily be used by young children.

The iPod touch is more than just a music player. It is an extremely impressive and handy device.

Read Kindle Books on the iPod Touch

You can read Kindle books even if you don't have your Kindle ebook reader with you or if you do not own a Kindle device. Amazon has pursued a strategy of making Kindle books available across multiple devices. Customers can read and sync their Kindle books on the iPhone, iPod Touch, PCs, and soon BlackBerry, Mac, and iPad. If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, the Kindle reader app is a free download.
You cannot shop for Kindle books in Apple's App Store. Readers must still buy those books through the Kindle Store — either on a Kindle device or through a Web browser on a computer or one of the Apple devices. You can get free book samples; read the first chapter for free before you decide to buy. Then, books you've purchased are wirelessly transferred to the iPhone or iPod Touch via Amazon's servers. There are more than 400,000 books including many of the New York Times bestsellers.
Kindle newspapers, magazines, and blogs are not currently available on the iPod touch or iPhone- much of that material is available anyway on the iPhone via the Web.
Flipping pages on iPod Touch is really easy — just swipe the screen lightly with your finger. You can change the font size (5 sizes), bookmark pages for later references, and search the Table of Contents. A bigger screen would make it a little easier to read, but I didn’t find the small Touch screen to be annoying.
You can start reading on the Kindle device, switch to the iPod Touch and basically go back and forth without losing your place. Books you’ve already purchased for the Kindle ebook reader, of course, can be placed on the iPhone or iPod Touch as well.
